My recent shader series just dropped on freeCodeCamp!
I am incredibly grateful to be collaborating with freeCodeCamp again, two years after releasing ​my p5.js course​ with them. If you missed it on my channel, the series breaks down the basics of shaders, starting from explaining how the GPU renders pixels to building an animated, fractal heart effect written entirely from scratch.
What Inspires Me
For a grounded perspective on tech and business, the Rework podcast by 37signals co-founders Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson is one of my favorites.
Their latest episode highlights the real trade-off of AI speed. While acceleration lets you ship fast, it risks stripping away the deliberate, slow-cooked conceptual breakthroughs that only happen when you humanly untangle a problem. This process takes time to marinate, and that's a good thing!
My Reading Era 🤓
I’ve been trying to get off screens more lately, which has gotten me back into reading. Because I used to read very little, I felt like every book had to be a home run. But now that I commit to reading for just 10 mins a day, I've taken the pressure off, finished so many more books, and explored genres I wouldn't have otherwise (a huge personal win!).
My absolute recent favorite is ​Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow​ by Gabrielle Zevin.
