Maintaining Creative Authority in the Age of AI | June 28, 2026

This Week’s Highlight

No new video on my channel this week, but here is a video I produced for the Processing Foundation featuring an amazing artist and educator Qianqian Ye!

It’s a deep dive into the exciting typography features available in the new version of p5.js, exploring how to transform static letters into interactive, animated types.

Look Who’s Back!

Ahmad Moussa, better known as Gorilla Sun, who writes a wonderful newsletter is back with a new piece, and it reminded me just how much I missed his perspective on creative coding. If you’ve never come across his work before, you are in for a serious treat.

He actually featured me in his comeback piece alongside a wonderful lineup of topics. Go check out the latest drop, give him a warm welcome back, and subscribe while you are at it!

I'm Giving a Talk!

This coming week, I’ll be speaking at Global/Local Exchange 國際交流 as part of the Processing Community Day Taiwan!

My talk tackles the core anxiety of our craft today: How do we use AI to go further without losing our own technical agency?

I’ll be sharing my experiments using AI to master technical fundamentals as well as pulling off work that used to be out of reach. I want to show why programming skills are the exact baseline you need to maintain creative authority and direct the tool, instead of letting it direct you.

🗓️ Mark your calendar:

Until next week!
