Truchet Tiles, Tiny Consoles, Big Ideas ✨🕹️ | September 21, 2025
This Week’s Highlight
This week I’m starting a three-part adventure into Hexagonal Truchet Tiles! In this (super long 😅) first part, we play with four tile types and arcs that wiggle their way into surprising hexagonal patterns.
Next: physics, interactivity, and eventually (gulp!) my first-ever interactive art installation for an exhibition. Will keep you posted if you’re close enough to come say hi!
What Inspires Me
Lately I’ve been inspired by PICO-8, a tiny “fantasy console” where everything fits into 128×128 pixels, 16 colors, and just a few kilobytes. Instead of feeling limiting, those constraints spark wild creativity. People make full games, quirky experiments, even game-a-day challenges!
I first got the itch to try making my own tiny games after watching this lovely video by Juniper Dev. It’s a great reminder that sometimes the smallest canvases open up the biggest imagination.
Experiments in Progress
I haven’t shared much about AI here, but it’s been quietly shaping my creative process lately. I’ve been experimenting, testing its limits, and noticing where it amplifies my own imagination rather than replacing it.
I’m still figuring out how to weave it into my work and storytelling as a content creator, and I’m curious what resonates with you. If there are directions you’d like me to explore or questions you’d love answered, I’d be glad to hear them!
Until next week!
